Colorado Eagles beat Milwaukee Admirals 4-1 as first-period scoring builds three-goal lead

The Colorado Eagles beat the Milwaukee Admirals 4-1 on Friday at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee after scoring three first-period goals to pull away. Colorado added another goal in the second period before Milwaukee answered in the third.

Adam Beckman opened the scoring early in the first period. Kyle Marino’s slashing penalty sent Colorado onto the power play that followed Beckman’s goal. From Colorado’s 1-0 lead, Christian Wolanin scored on the power play at 9:21, and Taylor Makar followed at 10:30 to make it 3-0. Beckman also assisted on Makar’s goal. The Eagles took that three-goal lead into the first intermission.

Colorado’s fourth straight goal came in the second period, when Maroš Jedlička scored unassisted for a 4-0 lead. Milwaukee remained scoreless after Colorado took tripping penalties late in the period, first on Nikita Prishchepov and then on Makar. The Admirals finished without a goal on five power plays and still trailed 4-0 after two periods.

Brady Martin scored at 4:33 of the third period, cutting Colorado’s lead to 4-1. Milwaukee did not score again, and that margin held through the finish. Wolanin’s first-period power-play goal stood as the game-winner after the Eagles added two more goals before the Admirals got on the board.
