Greeley police set prescription drug take-back event for Oct. 24
Liquids must stay sealed in their original containers; injectables, syringes and illicit substances won’t be accepted. Vape pens and e-cigarette devices should have their batteries removed before disposal.
Greeley Police Department’s prescription drug take-back event is scheduled for Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at 2875 W. 10th St.
The department is again partnering with the DEA for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event is intended to help people safely clear out unused or expired medications, the department said. It describes the program as “completely free, safe, and no questions asked” and says it is anonymous.
Accepted medications may be left in their original containers or placed directly in the disposal box. Liquids must remain sealed in their original containers. The department recommends removing personal identifying information from prescription labels. Intravenous medication, injectables, syringes and illicit substances will not be accepted. Vape pens and e-cigarette devices should have their batteries removed before disposal.
