Greeley expects downtown closures on 9th Avenue from 11th to 12th streets and westbound 10th Street from 8th to 11th avenues during the week of Oct. 19 as construction continues.
More street closures are expected the week of Oct. 19 as work continues, the City of Greeley said. The city’s outlook lists 9th Avenue between 11th and 12th streets as closed, including the 9th Avenue and 12th Street intersection. The outlook also lists westbound 10th Street between 8th and 11th avenues as closed, including intersections at 8th Avenue and 10th Street and 10th Avenue and 10th Street.
A partial closure is expected at 8th Avenue and 11th Street, the city said. Drivers heading north on 8th Avenue can turn right onto 11th Street but cannot go straight through the intersection. The 9th Avenue and 10th Street intersection has temporarily reopened to provide access to downtown businesses. It will close again as construction continues.
Crews have installed 1,700 feet of sewer pipe, nearly half of the new pipe planned for downtown Greeley. That stretch is about five football fields long. Crews have also installed nearly 1,900 feet of new water pipe, bringing water line work to 22% complete.
The sewer work is part of the Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project, which is replacing and improving older water, sewer and stormwater systems in downtown Greeley. The project also includes improvements to roads, sidewalks and streetscapes. Construction began in summer 2026 and will take place in phases.
