How to find Weld County commissioner meetings and records

Regular sessions are scheduled for 9 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, subject to holiday, weather and approved cancellations; the public meetings page and Commissioner Record Search provide schedules and records.

Weld County’s five-member Board of County Commissioners is the statutory head of county government.

Here’s when commissioners meet, where to find their meeting records, and how to check when a particular item is scheduled.

When are the commissioners’ regular meetings?

The Board of County Commissioners meets at 9 a.m. each Monday and Wednesday in the Commissioner’s Assembly Room of the Administration Building, 1150 O Street, Greeley. Meetings and hearings are subject to the holiday schedule, cancellations approved by Resolution and cancellations due to inclement weather.

Where can I find commissioners’ meeting records?

On the Commissioner Public Meetings page, select the date you want and click its Agenda link. You can also search agendas, minutes or documents on the Commissioners’ Agenda or Housing Authority Board’s Agenda through Commissioner Record Search.

In Laserfiche, the Document Type field populates after approximately two seconds as AG - Agenda or MI - Minutes. Use its dropdown to select another county-involved board or commission. For an agenda or minutes search, select Submit to return all documents of the selected type. Click the Document ID column twice to sort results with the most recent document first and the oldest last. To view a document, select its hyperlinked Document ID in the Name column.

Items on the Commissioners’ regular agenda are grouped under General - Search, where the Packet Type field populates after approximately two seconds as BOCC - General. Items under the Public Hearings heading on the Commissioners’ Agenda are grouped under Public Hearings - Search, where the Packet Type field populates after approximately two seconds as BOCC - Public Hearings. For a BOCC - Public Hearings packet, enter the hearing date in both date fields and select Submit to see the entire packet for that date; results are sorted by Document ID number. You can narrow a Public Hearings packet search using a Document ID, File Location, names or, for a land-use case, a case number in the Notes field. Enter Document ID numbers without hyphens and a specific hearing date in both date fields.

How do I check when an item will be discussed at a meeting or hearing?

The Commissioner Public Meetings page lists the Board’s Monday and Wednesday regular meetings and public hearings. Public-hearing start times may vary. The page advises you to check the agenda to confirm when an item of interest is scheduled.

Can I watch commissioners’ meetings online?

Yes. Weld County Board of Commissioners meetings and hearings, as well as Housing Authority Board meetings, are live-streamed.

Can I attend a commissioners’ work session?

Work sessions are informal discussions among commissioners and invited attendees, not public hearings. You may attend to listen, but public comment is not taken.

Weld County provides a BOCC Public Meeting Calendar through a link on its BOCC Calendar page. Work-session scheduling may change, and the county encourages anyone planning to attend a specific session to check the Board’s calendar regularly. The Board may move a session to an earlier or later time that day.

How can I contact commissioners about a county issue?

You can contact the commissioners by email:

How can I access recordings of commissioners’ meetings and hearings?

The Commissioner Public Meetings page directs you to its Helpful Information section for information about accessing video and audio recordings and Commissioner and Housing Authority Board records. You can contact the Clerk to the Board’s Office for further assistance at (970) 400-4225.

You may obtain digital copies of recorded audio proceedings from public hearings by submitting a CORA request. Captions on live-streamed and recorded meetings are auto-generated, are not a transcription, and are not guaranteed by Weld County to be completely accurate.

Can I ask the Weld County Council to review an aspect of county government?

Under Weld County Council rules, you may ask the Council to review a specific aspect of county government if you are:

  • A Weld County citizen
  • An elected official
  • A department head
  • An employee
  • A board member
  • An agent
  • A commission member

The Council may conduct a requested review itself or designate someone to conduct it. It may make periodic appointments for specific reviews by majority vote.
