Evans to shut down citywide non-potable irrigation system Thursday
The shutdown ends the 2026 irrigation season. The city urges residents to limit outdoor watering through year’s end, including at properties using potable water, amid ongoing drought conditions.
The City of Evans will shut down its citywide non-potable irrigation water system Thursday, Oct. 15, marking the end of the 2026 irrigation season. The notice was dated Oct. 14.
Drought conditions continue across the region, the city said. Evans is encouraging residents to conserve water and limit outdoor irrigation for the rest of the year, including at properties that use potable water for irrigation.
Continued conservation efforts will help preserve available water resources and support the city’s efforts to maintain a reliable and sustainable water supply in 2027, Evans said.
