Weld County invites residents to open houses on draft plan

Residents can review the plan and share input Oct. 26 at the county administration building in Greeley and Oct. 27 at Fort Lupton Recreation Center, both from 4 to 6 p.m. Planning staff will present it Nov. 3.

Weld County is inviting residents to two open houses to review its draft Comprehensive Plan and share input as the county considers it.

One open house will be held Monday, Oct. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Weld County Administration Building, 1150 O Street, Greeley. A second will be held Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Fort Lupton Recreation Center, 203 S. Harrison Avenue, Fort Lupton.

Weld County is nearing completion of an update to its Comprehensive Plan. The county says the plan will help guide county planning and decisions about growth and development in the years ahead. “Our comprehensive plan provides an opportunity to look at where Weld County is today and thoughtfully consider where we want to go in the future,” Commissioner Lynette Peppler said. “We encourage residents to take a few minutes to review the draft and share their input as the county considers the plan.”

Planning staff and the county’s consultant will present the latest draft plan at the Planning Commission’s regular meeting on Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m. The draft plan is expected to go before the Board of County Commissioners for three readings on Nov. 30, Dec. 14 and Dec. 28, the county said. Weld County directs residents to its Comprehensive Plan webpage for more information.
