Transfort does not collect fares on its buses, including FLEX, but passengers transferring from FLEX to RTD must pay an RTD fare or use an RTD pass.

Here's how to plan a trip, check route and holiday hours, find a stop and track bus arrivals.

How do I find a Transfort route and plan a trip?

Enter a starting location and destination in the Transfort trip planner to get route, transfer and journey-time instructions. The free Ride Transfort app is available through the App Store and Google Play and provides routes, bus arrival times and real-time bus information.

You can get Transfort schedules on the Routes & Schedules page or pick up printed schedules at a transit center or on a bus.

When do Transfort routes run, including on holidays?

Most Transfort routes operate Monday through Saturday. Individual route schedules give each route’s operating hours.

Limited-service hours and routes operate on January 1, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and December 25. For Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, bus service is scheduled to run regular hours, while transit center lobbies and Customer Support offices are closed.

How do I find the right Transfort stop and board?

Transfort stops are marked and generally spaced a quarter to half a mile apart along routes. Buses stop only at designated stops. You can locate stops through Transfort’s rider tools, a printed route schedule or the Ride Transfort app.

Transfort asks you to wait at the designated stop at least five minutes before the scheduled departure. Buses will not stop after they begin pulling away from a stop.

Let passengers exit before you board. You can ask the driver for boarding assistance.

How can I check bus arrivals and get alerts?

You can check bus arrival times through Transfort’s Bus Tracker or the Ride Transfort app, or by calling 970-221-6620. To get arrival information by text, send “TFORT” and the bus stop ID shown on the stop sign to 41411. MAX stations and transit centers have signs, screens and voice announcements showing bus arrivals and departures.

You can sign up for email or text notifications for specific routes. The app also offers alerts and notifications for favorite routes.

Transfort lists waiting for a train, cross-street traffic and a driver assisting a passenger as possible causes of delays. A detour after a traffic crash is another possibility. Transfort directs riders to its tools for arrival updates and long delays.

What accessibility options are available on Transfort buses?

Transfort buses have lifts or ramps and are fully wheelchair accessible, with room for two wheelchairs inside each bus. Operators are trained to assist passengers boarding and exiting the wheelchair-accessible area. You can ask an operator to lower a kneeling bus or activate its ramp.

The front seats are reserved for seniors and people with disabilities. To identify accessible stops, use FCMaps and look for the International Symbol of Access beside stops.

Can I bring a bicycle on a Transfort bus?

Transfort buses have front-mounted racks that each hold three bikes, with space available first come, first served. HORN buses do not have bike racks. Bicycles are not allowed inside Transfort buses except on MAX, where the larger 60-foot buses have four dedicated interior bike racks.

If a bus rack is full, your options are:

  • Wait for the next bus.
  • Use nearby bike parking.
  • Ride your bicycle.

If there is no room for your bicycle on MAX, Transfort lists these options:

  • Lock it at the station.
  • Wait for the next MAX bus.
  • Ride the Mason trail.

Transfort’s Bike-n-Ride page allows bicycles that meet these conditions:

  • They are non-fuel-powered, two-wheeled adult or children’s bicycles.
  • They weigh less than 55 pounds.
  • They have no additional or oversized accessories and do not limit the operator’s visibility.

Electric bicycles are allowed if they meet the weight limit, but the battery may need to be removed to meet it. SPIN e-bikes are not allowed on Transfort buses because of their weight.
