Fort Collins MAX: what days it runs and how to check times

For riders, the timetable has no Sunday option; Schedule Exceptions list holiday schedules, while Transfort’s detour listings have no MAX entry and alert coverage for the route is unspecified.

Fort Collins’ MAX bus rapid transit route connects Downtown Transit Center, Mason and South Transit Center, serving activity and employment centers including Midtown, CSU and downtown. The route has 12 stations and stops.

Here’s which days the timetable covers, how to check times for a stop and where to find detours and arrival alerts.

What days does MAX run?

The MAX timetable offers Weekdays, Saturdays and Exceptions for northbound and southbound service, but no Sunday option. It lists reduced service on Nov. 26, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, 2027.

Transfort says the route operates on Jan. 1, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 25.

How do I check MAX’s timetable for a particular stop?

Choose a schedule and service type with the on-page buttons, then select a stop and approximate time to highlight that place in the timetable. Bold arrivals are scheduled time points; check Schedule Exceptions for holiday schedules.

You can filter the timetable using these controls:

  • Select stops by clicking each stop’s row button, then press F to toggle the filter.
  • Press A to switch between all stops and time-point stops.
  • Press the question-mark key to repeat the options.

The MAX PDF map and timetable are available for printing. For help viewing or reading them, contact the City’s ADA Coordinator at [email protected] or 970-416-4254.

Where can I check for MAX detours?

Transfort says riders can use the Alerts link for a route to view detours, dates and alternative routes or stops. Transfort’s rider-alert listings include FLEX, Gold, Horn, Foothills Shuttle, Routes 2, 3, 6 and 81, but no MAX route entry.

How can I get MAX arrival and route alerts?

Transfort says riders can create a customizable account to receive bus-arrival and route-information alerts by text or email, but does not say whether MAX is covered.
