Erie to narrow County Line Road to one lane between Austin and Monroe

Flaggers will direct traffic during daytime work, expected to continue through Nov. 30. Motorists may encounter short-term restrictions elsewhere in town, but no full road closures are planned.

Erie begins crack-sealing operations throughout town Monday, Oct. 5, as part of its ongoing pavement maintenance program. County Line Road is the first work location, with crews starting at Austin Avenue and moving south to Monroe Street. Traffic on that stretch will be reduced to one lane from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flaggers directing vehicles through the work zone.

Work is expected to continue through Monday, Nov. 30. As the project progresses elsewhere in town, motorists may encounter cones, work vehicles, temporary traffic control and short-term lane restrictions. No full road closures are planned.

Crack sealing fills cracks in the road surface to keep water out of the pavement and extend its life, the Town of Erie said. It asks motorists to slow down, follow posted signs and flagger instructions, and allow extra travel time.
