Oregon State beats Colorado State 56-26 as Braden Atkinson throws five touchdown passes

Oregon State beat Colorado State 56-26 on Saturday at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, scoring 28 straight points after Colorado State tied the game at 14-14.
Oregon State led 14-0 before Mel Brown’s 17-yard touchdown run with 24 seconds left in the first quarter and K’saan Farrar’s 1-yard run with 11:51 left in the second tied the score. Oregon State went ahead for good when Aaron Butler ran 30 yards for a touchdown with 8:55 left in the second quarter, making it 21-14.
Braden Atkinson threw touchdown passes to Eric Olsen and Jesse Legree in the second quarter, then found Olsen for a score in the third as Oregon State completed its 28-point run and led 42-14. Nader Chirchi’s 7-yard touchdown catch from Farrar made it 42-20. Oregon State scored again before Durell Robinson’s 9-yard touchdown run made it 49-26. Legree’s 52-yard catch from Atkinson set the final score at 56-26.
Farrar completed 17 of 26 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown, and Robinson had 21 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown. Atkinson completed 30 of 33 passes for 404 yards and five touchdowns. Legree caught five passes for 156 yards and three touchdowns. Oregon State had 29 first downs and 525 total yards.
