Loveland seeks applicants for boards, commissions by Oct. 30

Fall openings include seats on the Library Board, Planning Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission. A temporary finance committee will study city finances and services, while Charter Review Committee applications remain open through Oct. 18.

Applications for fall openings on Loveland boards and commissions will be available Thursday, Oct. 1, and are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30.

Fall positions are available on the Affordable Housing Commission, Citizen’s Finance Advisory Commission, Cultural Services Board, Golf Advisory Board, Library Board, Open Lands and Trails Advisory Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, Planning Commission, Police Citizen Advisory Commission, Senior Advisory Board and Visual Arts Commission. This year, background checks will be completed before applicants are approved and appointed by City Council. Positions are also available on the Community Marketing Commission, Disabilities Advisory Commission, Downtown Development Authority, Historic Preservation Commission, Human Services Commission, Loveland Communication Advisory Board, Loveland Utilities Commission and Transportation Advisory Board; those openings occur when members can no longer serve or positions were not filled during spring recruitment.

The city is accepting applications for a recently approved Citizen’s Finance Advisory Commission (CFAC) Ad Hoc Subcommittee called Citizens for Loveland Economic Accountability and Resilience. The temporary committee will evaluate topics CFAC identified for further review, including financial sustainability, service levels and quality of life, with a goal of making recommendations to City Council in mid-2027, the city said. The committee will include four CFAC members and one alternate, plus five non-CFAC members and one alternate. Applications for board and commission positions and the new committee are available on the city’s Board and Commission Application page. Applicants seeking help or a paper copy can contact the City Clerk’s Office at 970-962-2000, Option 9, or Clerk@CityofLoveland.org.

Applications for the Ad Hoc Charter Review Committee are still available through Sunday, Oct. 18. The city says the committee will review and recommend revisions, updates and amendments to the Loveland City Charter to resolve ambiguous language, ensure compliance with current laws and address potential inconsistencies in the Charter. Information and an application are available on the Charter Review Committee page.
