Man on motorcycle critically injured after colliding with Honda on Highway 34, police say

The Honda's driver and her young child were not injured, police said. The department's traffic unit is investigating, and potential charges are pending the final findings; witnesses can contact Officer Chad Wegscheider.

Greeley police said a 28-year-old man riding a motorcycle is in critical condition after he collided with a Honda Civic at the eastbound 23rd Avenue overpass of Highway 34 Tuesday, Sept. 28. Officers responded at about 3:25 p.m., the department said.

Greeley police said a preliminary investigation found that the man was riding a Harley sportbike eastbound on Highway 34 and weaving through traffic at a high rate of speed. He collided with the rear corner of a Honda Civic driven by a 28-year-old woman, according to the department. The man sustained severe injuries and was taken to a local hospital for emergency, life-saving surgery, police said. Neither the woman nor her young child passenger was injured, the department said.

The crash remains under active investigation by the Greeley Police Department Traffic Unit, and potential charges are pending the final investigation outcome, police said.
