I-25 East Frontage Road set to close south of WCR 32 Oct. 1-9

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and the I-25 North Express Lanes Project plan to fully close both directions of the I-25 East Frontage Road south of Weld County Road 32. The closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, through 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.
Crews plan to mill, grade, repave and stripe both lanes of the frontage road between Weld County Road 32 and Camelot Circle. The project says access to nearby businesses will be maintained, and detour routes and reduced speed limits will be posted.
A closure-and-detour map accompanies CDOT’s announcement, and detour details are available on the project’s traffic impacts page. CDOT said site and weather conditions may affect construction operations and duration. The department says full closures increase safety for the traveling public and crews while reducing the duration of traffic impacts.
CDOT says the closure is part of the I-25 North Express Lanes Project: Mead to Berthoud, which includes plans to reconstruct and widen bridges along this section of I-25. The approximately six-mile project is planned to expand and enhance I-25 from Colorado Highway 66 in Mead to the newly built portion of I-25 just south of CO 56 in Berthoud, according to CDOT. The department says that, when complete in 2028, the project will fill a major gap on I-25 and mark the first time the highway has more than two lanes in both directions from Denver to Fort Collins.
