Aims opens Greeley center for medical, dental and mental health care
Current students and immediate family members can receive care through Sunrise, with fees based on ability to pay. Aims also offers students free, confidential counseling, group therapy and other support.
Aims Community College says students now have one place on the Greeley Campus to access medical, dental, mental health and wellness services at the new Student Health and Wellness Center.
Through a partnership with Sunrise Community Health, current Aims students and their immediate family members can receive medical and dental care on campus, the college said. Fees are based on a patient’s ability to pay, and eligible patients may receive a sliding-fee discount based on household income and family size, Aims said. The college also provides students with free, confidential mental health counseling, case management, group therapy, recovery meetings and other support. The center opened for student use on the first day of school in August, and Aims held a ribbon-cutting and open house Sept. 25.
Aims said services include primary care, wellness visits, pediatrics, same-day care, telehealth, family planning, pharmacy, laboratory services, X-rays and dental hygiene. Sunrise accepts private insurance, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Medicare, Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) and more, the college said. Payment plans are also available, according to Aims. The center is at 5311 W. 20th Street on the southwest side of the Aims Greeley Campus, and students can learn about services and schedule appointments online.
“Students told us they want accessible health care on campus, and Aims listened,” said Board of Trustees Chair Marilyn Schock. “The new Center responds directly to that request by bringing medical, dental and mental health services together in one convenient location for students and their families.”
