Town of Eaton says ballots due by 7 p.m. Nov. 3

The Town of Eaton says ballots in Weld County’s Nov. 3 general election must be received by 7 p.m. that day.

The town says the election will be a mail ballot election run by Weld County. Registered voters will receive ballots by mail and can return them by mail or at any 24-hour ballot drop box. Voters must sign their ballot envelopes; unsigned ballots cannot be counted until the signature issue is fixed, according to the town. Postmarks do not count, and ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day; the town advises voters mailing ballots close to the deadline to use a drop box instead.

The town’s election schedule says ballots begin mailing to voters Oct. 9, when 24-hour ballot drop boxes open. A 24-hour ballot drop box outside the Eaton Area Parks & Recreation District building at 1675 3rd Street will be open from Oct. 9 through 7 p.m. Nov. 3, the town says.

Ballot issue information is scheduled to be mailed to registered voters Oct. 2, according to the town’s election schedule. The release says Eaton voters will see Bond Issue 2A on the ballot. Voter Service and Polling Centers open Oct. 19 for in-person voting and registration, according to the schedule. The centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 3, Election Day, the town says.
