Evans council to weigh 2027 budget, road and stormwater projects

The Evans City Council is scheduled to consider the city's 2027 budget and contracts for transportation, water and stormwater infrastructure projects at its Oct. 6 meeting, according to the City of Evans.

The city says Council is scheduled to consider adopting the 2027 budget. Council also will consider a design contract for Phase 3 of the 37th Street project, from just west of the 37th Street / 65th Avenue intersection east to the vicinity of Arrowhead Drive. A proposed contract for the City's Water Master Plan and a design contract for the 23rd Avenue Stormwater Outfall project will also come before Council. The agenda will include consideration of a construction contract for the City's 2026 Mill & Overlay Program.

The City of Evans says the 23rd Avenue Stormwater Outfall project will include rehabilitation of the Ridge Pond drainage basin and outfall pipe, and construction of an outfall drainage channel from 49th Street to the South Platte River. The city says the project is intended to build capacity and reliability into drainage infrastructure that impacts a significant portion of the city. The 2026 Mill & Overlay Program is to provide pavement improvements on several major thoroughfares and neighborhood streets, the city says. Council consideration does not guarantee approval, the city says.

The city says the 2027 budget outlines anticipated revenues and expenditures and provides a framework for municipal services, infrastructure maintenance and city priorities. The city says the Water Master Plan will help assess Evans' water infrastructure and guide long-term planning, future improvements and capital investments as the community grows.

The City of Evans says the meeting agenda and supporting materials will be available Friday, Oct. 2, on its City Council webpage. Residents are encouraged to attend the meeting or watch its livestream on the City's YouTube channel, the city says.
