$117,400 to improve Beaver Pond access

The ordinance appropriates $72,700 in Colorado Parks and Wildlife grant revenue and authorizes a $44,700 transfer within the Natural Areas Fund for the Fishing is Fun project at Beaver Pond in the Arapaho Bend Natural Area. The $117,400 project would provide a designated trailhead and parking area, an ADA fishing pier, 2,122 square feet of accessible concrete paths, a vault restroom, eight aquatic habitat structures and stabilized banks. The City's match includes $32,800 in cash and $11,900 in-kind personnel; the ordinance takes effect September 25, 2026. The grant is reimbursement-based and runs through December 31, 2028. The ordinance authorizes the City Manager or designee to accept the grant, execute required documents and comply with its terms; the appropriation would continue until the grant expires or all grant funds are spent.
