Evans clarifies preferred names for seven candidates before Nov. 3 election
The certified ballot remains unchanged, but the city lists preferred names for the mayoral and Ward I and III races to clarify how they correspond with candidates’ official ballot names. The notice is informational, not an endorsement.
Evans posted a Sept. 21 notice clarifying the preferred names of seven candidates ahead of the Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026, general election, without changing the certified ballot.
The certified ballot lists Alicia Johnson and Tammy Lee Pletka for mayor. Johnson’s preferred ballot name is Alicia (Ally) Johnson, and Pletka’s is Tammy Pletka. For Ward I, the ballot lists Derek S. Ward and Consuelo G. Lopez, whose preferred ballot names are Derek Ward and Consuelo G. Lopez, respectively.
For Ward III, the certified ballot lists Robert James Kunkle, Ryan C. Schuiling and Geoffrey Robinson. Their preferred ballot names are Bob Kunkle, Ryan Schuiling and Geoffrey Robinson, respectively.
The city says the information is for informational purposes only and clarifies the relationship between the candidate names on the certified ballot and their preferred names.
