Two Larimer County projects among 25 recipients of Colorado arts grants
Each recipient gets $3,000 for a project involving cultural documentation, teaching or public presentations. One grant will fund a documentary short; the other supports a May 2027 heritage celebration in Loveland, with projects due by June 30.
The Colorado Creative Industries division is awarding $75,000 to 25 artists and arts organizations, including two recipients in Larimer County. Each grant is $3,000 and supports projects involving folk and traditional arts, cultural documentation, teaching or public presentations.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the culture and heritage of communities across our state and help ensure these traditions continue to thrive,” Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade Director Eve Lieberman said in a news release.
Lionheart Motion Works, a Larimer County recipient, will produce a documentary short about Denver’s Little Saigon Business District and how Vietnamese and Southeast Asian refugees worked to preserve collective memory and identity through food-making practices and cultural celebrations. Heart and Sol will host its sixth annual Asian Pacific Islander and Desi American Heritage Month Celebration on May 22, 2027, in Loveland, with music, dance, storytelling, cultural food vendors, artisan booths and community service booths.
The other recipients are in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Jefferson, La Plata, Mesa, Montezuma, Phillips, Pueblo and Saguache counties. Projects include mariachi instruction, Indigenous art markets, oral histories, documentary films, cultural festivals, traditional dance and music programs, and community archiving. Projects must include a publicly accessible component and be completed by June 30, 2027, according to the grant program information.
CCI also announced an exhibition featuring work from previous grant recipients. “Colorado: Past, Present, Future” will be on public display at the Colorado State Capitol through Feb. 28, 2027.
