Greeley, Aims and Alquist expand 3D construction training partnership
More than 200 students have taken 3D concrete printing courses from Aims Community College and Greeley-based Alquist since 2025. Alquist plans to move into Aims’ Workforce Innovation Center when it opens in January 2027.
The City of Greeley, Aims Community College and Greeley-based construction technology company Alquist are expanding a partnership focused on workforce training for 3D construction printing, the city said Sept. 8.
More than 200 students have participated in 3D concrete printing courses developed by Alquist and Aims Continuing Education since 2025. The program now includes 18 learning modules and provides participants with exposure to the technology, materials and design concepts used in 3D construction printing.
“Careers and industries are changing, and our job is to make sure students have access to the skills and knowledge employers are looking for,” Aims CEO and President Leah L. Bornstein said. Alquist reported that the training has helped reduce its in-house training time for new workers from approximately two weeks to two to three days.
Alquist is expected to move into the Aims Workforce Innovation Center when it opens in January 2027. The company will use office and Innovation Bay space as an industry partner and work with Aims students, faculty and other partners.
Alquist and Aims are exploring whether the training curriculum can be offered through additional educational partners as Alquist expands projects and equipment deployments beyond Colorado.
