Hilton Fort Collins plans major rooftop chiller replacement

City permit records show a commercial alteration planned at the Hilton Fort Collins hotel at 425 W. Prospect Rd. The work would remove two existing air-cooled chillers, a cooling tower, water piping, pumps and a buffer tank from the roof and replace them with two new 40-ton remote barrel chillers in a prefabricated panel enclosure.

The permit also calls for new piping, chiller pumps and related electrical work. The city record shows no change of use or occupancy for the property.
