Greeley plans road closure on 83rd Avenue for culvert work
Drivers who use 83rd Avenue in Greeley should expect a temporary full road closure between 4th Street and O Street beginning the week of Aug. 24, according to the city.
The closure will allow crews to install a box culvert beneath 83rd Avenue, which the city said will increase drainage capacity and improve water flow during heavy spring snowmelt and runoff.
The city said the closure is expected to continue through Sept. 4. The affected stretch is on 83rd Avenue, also identified as Weld County Road 27.
Detour signs and message boards will be posted in the area, and drivers are being asked to follow posted detours, allow extra travel time and use alternate routes when possible. The city said updates will be posted on its Facebook page if needed.
