Greeley to close 7th Avenue and 10th Street intersection Aug. 17

Greeley will fully close the intersection of 7th Avenue and 10th Street starting Monday, Aug. 17, as construction continues on the city’s Downtown Infrastructure Improvements Project, according to the city.

Crews will install new underground water and sewer lines during the next phase of the project, which city officials said is replacing old water and sewer lines to help lower flood risks, improve service and support future growth.

Drivers will be directed to detour routes on 6th Avenue and 8th Avenue. The city said some street parking near the intersection will close, while businesses, sidewalks and pedestrian access will remain open.

The city also said the detour will affect Greeley-Evans Transit Route 4, and riders should check updated route schedules. Officials encouraged drivers to allow extra travel time and said residents and visitors should continue supporting downtown businesses during construction.
