Larimer and Weld food inspections with failed re-inspections for July 27–August 2, 2026
Larimer and Weld county health inspectors score each retail food inspection by total violation points: 0–49 passes, 50–109 requires a re-inspection, and 110 or more results in a closure. Critical (priority) violations are those most likely to cause foodborne illness. The following is drawn from the county health departments' public inspection records.
This week’s inspection reports in Larimer and Weld counties included 12 establishments that failed inspections and required a re-inspection, according to the Larimer and Weld county health departments. The reports provided here list those failed inspections only.
Failed inspections
Belly Buster Sushi, Loveland (Larimer County) — inspected July 28, scored 64 (re-inspection required), according to the Larimer County health department. Inspectors noted staff washing hands in prep and warewashing sinks instead of hand sinks, raw shrimp stored above ready-to-eat food, missing date marks on ready-to-eat foods including mussels, crab salad and tofu, sushi rice held under time control without written procedures, tuna thawing in its original vacuum package, a portion of baked mussels removed from the original shellfish container, and a leaking walk-in fridge vent over food storage.
Birrieria Dona Maria, Fort Collins (Larimer County) — inspected July 27, scored 57 (re-inspection required), according to the Larimer County health department. Inspectors noted green chili cooling too slowly, shredded chicken held hot at 112-119 F before stirring, cooked foods in a drawer under the cooktop held at 49-56 F, sushi rice kept past the date mark and discarded, thawed vacuum-packed tilapia still in its packaging, and a sanitizer bucket with too little chlorine.
College Cafe, Fort Collins (Larimer County) — inspected July 27, scored 52 (re-inspection required), according to the Larimer County health department. Inspectors noted raw chicken and raw beef stored above ready-to-eat food in the walk-in refrigerator and cooked noodles held at 37 F in the walk-in freezer.
CON AZUCAR OLD SCHOOL MEXICAN RESTAURANT, Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 31, scored 65 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted moldy cream cheese in the cooler, raw pork and shell eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods, an employee handling dishes and then returning to food prep without washing hands or changing gloves, a dishwasher with no sanitizer, watermelon held at 76-78 F and not cooling properly, cooked rice, beans and soup held too cool on the steam table, raw beef held at 44-47 F and buffet watermelon and rice pudding held at 47-57 F, and ready-to-eat foods missing date marks with one item past its discard date.
MARIA BONITA, Firestone (Weld County) — inspected July 27, scored 107 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted an employee handling food and clean surfaces after touching trash, raw meat and dirty dishes without washing hands, raw eggs and raw beef stored above ready-to-eat salsa, black mold buildup inside the ice machine, cooked chicken cooling too slowly in the walk-in cooler, open milk, cooked chicken and half-and-half left undated for over 1 day, sanitizer buckets too weak for wiping cloths, wiping cloths stored wet and dirty with no sanitizer, a dirty ladle stored on a soiled rack, an ice scoop stored with the handle touching the ice, and raw chicken and beef handled with the same gloves before the employee touched kitchen surfaces without handwashing.
BOWL IZAKAYA, Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 27, scored 97 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted an employee handling hard-boiled eggs with bare hands, cooked miso soup cooling too slowly in large buckets, hard-boiled eggs held too warm in the cooler, cooked bok choy and pork held below safe hot-holding temperature, cut lettuce, bean sprouts and imitation crab held too warm in the cooler, fish for sushi missing required date marks, soup and cooked pork cooling at room temperature, and salmon thawing at room temperature in reduced-oxygen packaging.
COUNTRY INN DINER, Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 27, scored 72 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted raw eggs stored above cut tomatoes and onions, a gloved employee touching raw meat and then clean surfaces without washing, an employee touching ready-to-eat bread with contaminated gloves, dirty knives on a magnetic strip, cooked sausage held at 60 F in the cooler, cheese, tomatoes, sausage, ham and lettuce held too warm in coolers, coolers holding TCS foods at 50-68 F, and no sanitizer in wiping cloth buckets.
DEL TACO #1034, Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 27, scored 55 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted an employee handling ready-to-eat food after touching the face, apron, cash and nose without proper handwashing, raw eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods in the cooler, and cold foods held at 44-46 F in an open cooler.
FOOD KING 128, Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 30, scored 90 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted employees handling food with dirty hands and contaminated gloves, handwashing sinks not working or with no running water, gloved employees touching their face or floor and continuing to prepare food without changing gloves, cutting boards for raw meat and cheese not properly sanitized, raw chicken and raw beef held too warm in coolers, quaternary sanitizer too strong on food-contact equipment, and flies entering the facility with pest traps over exposed food.
SHERPA GRILL (ROYAL NEPAL RESTAURANT), Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 27, scored 55 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted cooked chicken in broth cooling at 125 F in an ice bath and chutney, yogurt sauce and rice pudding held at 48-51 F without date tags.
WONDERFUL II, Greeley (Weld County) — inspected July 30, scored 60 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted cooked noodles, broccoli and chicken held too warm in the walk-in cooler, shredded cabbage and rice noodles cooled too slowly in coolers, mouse droppings on the kitchen floor, and a grease trap not draining with soda machine drain lines sitting in wastewater.
LONCHERA SANTA CRUZ LLC #2, Weld County — inspected July 31, scored 60 (re-inspection required), according to the Weld County health department. Inspectors noted cooked beans held at 86 F in a steam well, cooked chicken and pork held between 50-60 F in a cooler while cooling, cut lettuce, diced tomatoes, salsas and raw pork held too warm in coolers, cooked jalapenos, pork and chicken held below hot-holding temperature in a steam well, mozzarella cheese and cooked shrimp held at 55 F in a cooler, salsa bottles being time-controlled without a written discard time, and a prep cooler too warm for cooling TCS foods.
