Loveland police arrest man on sexual assault charges involving a minor

Loveland police arrested 27-year-old Iven Angelo Hernandez on July 22 following an investigation into multiple allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor, according to a city news release.

The investigation began in May after police received a report from a family member who suspected the victim had been abused by Hernandez. Detectives later learned the victim met Hernandez at a local gym around age 15 and that the abuse occurred after that, the release said.

Hernandez was booked into the Larimer County Jail on four counts of unlawful sexual contact, one count of sexual assault involving a 10-year age difference, two counts of harassment for following in a public place and a domestic violence sentence enhancer. Magistrate Siegal set bond at $10,000 cash surety with enhanced pretrial supervision that includes GPS monitoring.

Police said they believe there may be additional victims or witnesses. Anyone with information about similar incidents involving Hernandez is asked to contact the Loveland Police Department Tip Line at (970) 962-2032 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at (970) 221-6868.

Lt. Matt Roberts said cases involving crimes against minors require “relentless investigative work,” and that police remain committed to pursuing leads and working with the District Attorney’s Office.
