Greeley-Evans Transit to change routes and schedules in August
Greeley-Evans Transit will change several bus routes and stop locations starting Aug. 20 as part of an effort to make service easier to use, the city said.
The city said the updates are intended to create simpler routes, improve on-time performance and better serve busy areas. The changes follow the city's transit plan.
Route 1 will run a more direct path along 10th Street, with fewer loops. The city said some bus stops will be updated to be safer for walkers, and a new transfer stop will open at 35th Avenue near Greeley West. Route 3 will shift some stops from 29th Street to 27th and 28th streets between 23rd and 35th avenues.
Routes 5 and 6 will be combined into a single Route 5 that connects through the Downtown Transit Center. Route 6 will turn around at M Street instead of O Street to save time. The city also said some bus stop locations on all routes will change to make them safer and easier to reach.
Residents can comment on the changes through July 23. The city is also planning a public open house on July 13 at the Greeley-Evans Transit Center, 101 11th Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is available from the transit center, by phone or on the city's transit website. Materials in Spanish and interpretation services are available upon request.
