Motorcyclist dies after crash at College and Lorien in Fort Collins
Fort Collins police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle at the intersection of Lorien Lane and South College Avenue.
Police said they were called to the scene about 2:44 p.m. May 24. The crash involved a 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a 2005 Nissan Sentra.
According to the police report, the adult male riding the motorcycle was ejected and taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said there were three adult men in the Nissan and none was injured. The department’s CRASH team responded because of the severity of the collision and has taken over the investigation.
Investigators said the motorcycle was traveling northbound on College Avenue and the Nissan was leaving an apartment complex on Lorien Lane and beginning to travel northbound. Police are investigating whether a turn violation contributed to the crash. Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Phil Morris at 970-221-6842.
