Mostly Sunny Thursday in Estes Park, But Snow Expected Friday and Saturday

Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies to Estes Park with a high near 39 degrees and minimal precipitation chances at just 1 percent. South southwest winds will gust up to 22 mph throughout the day. However, conditions deteriorate dramatically Thursday night, when a slight chance of light snow develops after 5 a.m., with wind chills dropping to 0 degrees.

Friday marks a significant winter weather event for the area. Snow is expected throughout the day with an 85 percent chance of precipitation and less than an inch of accumulation possible. Temperatures will remain cold, reaching only 24 degrees with wind chills near minus 1. Snow continues Friday night with a 90 percent precipitation chance and 1 to 3 inches of new accumulation expected. Saturday morning remains cold at 3 degrees.

Saturday brings snow likely before 5 p.m., with a 60 percent precipitation chance. High temperatures will reach just 13 degrees. Following the snow, conditions improve significantly early next week. Sunday's high reaches 19 degrees with mostly sunny skies. Monday warms to 36 degrees under sunny conditions, with temperatures climbing further to 37 degrees Tuesday and 41 degrees Wednesday.
