Weld County Sets Up Farm Show Booth to Gather Input on Comprehensive PLAN
Weld County will staff booths 213 and 214 at the Colorado Farm Show in Greeley, Jan. 27–29, inviting rural residents to shape the county's Comprehensive Plan and meet with emergency management and planning experts at one of Northern Colorado's largest annual agricultural events.
At a gathering that draws more than 30,000 visitors over three days, the county is turning a high-traffic farm trade show into hands-on public input and preparedness time for producers and rural residents.
County emergency management, planning and public information staff will answer questions on preparedness, planning issues and county services. Attendees can play trivia about Weld County, grab emergency preparedness materials, sign up for county newsletters and fill out a Comprehensive Plan survey, according to Weld County. The Department of Public Works Weeds Division will cover noxious weed management at booth 202, and CSU Extension will staff a booth in the Event Center.
"The Colorado Farm Show is a great opportunity for residents to engage directly with county staff," said Commissioner Chair Scott James. "We're excited to be part of this event and share the services, resources and knowledge our departments provide."
The farm show features more than 300 agricultural exhibits and offers more than 60 free seminars on topics such as weeds, water, small acreage and disaster preparedness. The event runs 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Thursday at Island Grove Regional Park.
