Aldi Plans Aurora Distribution Center by 2029
ALDI announced plans to open a distribution center in Aurora by 2029, positioning the facility as the logistics backbone for more than 50 planned stores across Denver and Colorado Springs. The expansion marks the grocer's first Colorado entry and part of a $9 billion U.S. investment through 2028.
Aurora is one of three distribution centers ALDI will open by 2029. The others are in Baldwin, Florida (2027) and Goodyear, Arizona (2028).
"One in three U.S. households shopped at ALDI this past year, and in 2026 we're focused on making it even easier for customers to shop our aisles first," said Atty McGrath, CEO of ALDI U.S. "That means bringing ALDI to even more neighborhoods, upgrading our website and planning additional distribution centers to keep our shelves stocked with the products our shoppers love."
The company plans to open more than 180 new U.S. stores by the end of 2026, bringing its total store count to nearly 2,800 and moving closer to a goal of 3,200 stores by 2028.
ALDI plans to open more than 50 stores in Denver and Colorado Springs within two years, supplied by the Aurora distribution center. This is part of the company's five-year plan to enter the Colorado market.
ALDI says the distribution centers "will bring hundreds of new jobs to each of the regions and positively impact the local economies." The company has not disclosed specific job counts, site location, square footage, or incentive terms.
The Colorado expansion is part of ALDI's $9 billion U.S. investment through 2028 to scale operations and modernize its digital shopping experience.
