Greeley is seeking residents to fill nine vacancies on city boards and commissions that shape Council decisions on stormwater, parks, recreation, accessibility, and budgets.

Applications are due January 20 at 8 a.m. Interviews are scheduled for February 2–6, with City Council appointments set for February 17.

"The City of Greeley encourages community participation on its boards and commissions," according to the city's announcement. "Members play a key role in guiding the city's betterment by providing valuable feedback to Greeley's elected officials."

Open seats include the Commission on Disabilities, Human Relations Commission, Golf Course Advisory Board, Island Grove Advisory Board, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Museum Board, and Stormwater Board.

City Council recently appointed six residents to various boards—Barry Eastman, John Shull, and Nicole Riner to the Citizen Budget Advisory Committee; Nicole Eitmann to the Greeley Urban Renewal Authority; and Ricardo Perez and Tiffany Simmons to the Human Relations Commission.

These positions carry real influence. According to the city's 2024 Boards & Commissions Handbook, advisory boards "study programs and services and analyze issues and needs, offer proposals and recommend changes in programs, policies and standards." Council has final responsibility for policy decisions, but staff liaisons route recommendations directly to the City Clerk's Office and Council—ensuring resident input feeds official decisions.

The Commission on Disabilities advises the city on accessibility of facilities and programs. The Human Relations Commission "fosters mutual respect, understanding and amicable relations amongst all members of the Greeley community."

Island Grove Advisory Board guides planning and operations of the regional park, while Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recommends best use of recreational facilities.

Two boards shape spending priorities. The Stormwater Board recommends infrastructure priorities, funding, and facilities needed for an adequate stormwater system. The Golf Course Advisory Board reviews operations, maintenance, budgets, capital projects, and user fees.

Applicants can submit applications through the city's Boards and Commissions webpage. For information, call 970-350-9740.
