Larimer County Launches Job Newsletter, Skills Workshops for Winter Job Seekers
Larimer County's Economic & Workforce Development (EWD) department launched a bundled job-search support initiative January 5: the twice-weekly "Working Times" email newsletter and free interview and resume workshops, timed for a period of slower job growth.
Colorado's unemployment rate stood at 4.1% in September 2025, below the U.S. rate of 4.4%, yet the state added just 500 jobs month-to-month and 18,100 over the past year—a slowdown, according to the Colorado Employment Situation report.
The "Working Times" email goes out Tuesdays and Thursdays, listing job openings and hiring events across multiple industries. Residents can also sign up for free workshops—including interview prep and resume writing—through the county website. According to the county, "We can help you connect with your next opportunity!"
The twice-weekly newsletter and free workshops provide a low-cost entry into employment during the period of cooling demand. The program aggregates hiring events and job openings across a wide range of industries with open positions, positioning it as a regularly updated clearinghouse for residents seeking work.
The county reports current metrics: 374 new jobs listed, 385 businesses engaged in 2025, and a 76% placement rate for young workers through its programs. The combined newsletter and workshop offerings underscore EWD's active pipeline connecting hundreds of job seekers with employer demand.
Residents can access workforce analysis dashboards through the EWD website for broader labor-market context.
