Loveland Reopens Madison Avenue After Six-Month Closure
Loveland reopened Madison Avenue between 29th and 37th streets following six months of construction, restoring a key north-south route before the holidays with a new roundabout, buffered bike lanes, and upgraded utilities.
The reopened corridor will immediately reshape school, neighborhood, and commuter traffic patterns. Drivers should prepare for a final two-week closure in spring 2026 to finish construction.
"As one of the city's most traveled corridors, Madison Avenue connects neighborhoods, schools, parks, and major arterials, including US 287," the city said.
The improvements include a new roundabout at 37th Street, buffered bike lanes, a center left-turn lane, and a reconstructed 37th and Madison intersection. The city upgraded water, stormwater, electric, and telecommunications infrastructure throughout the corridor.
In spring 2026, the road will close for two weeks so crews can finish sidewalks, driveways, final asphalt work, striping, landscaping, and an art installation at the roundabout center.
"The Madison Avenue Corridor Improvement Project aims to improve safety, mobility, and infrastructure along a vital north-south route between 29th and 37th Streets," according to city materials.
