Loveland Utility Customers Should Update Payment Records with New Mailing Address
City of Loveland utility customers need to update their payment records with a new mailing address effective November 3, as the city transitions to a different payment processing vendor.
The new remittance address for utility bill payments is: City of Loveland Utilities, PO Box 202152, Dallas, TX 75320-2152.
The change affects customers who mail checks or money orders to pay monthly bills for electric, water, wastewater, and broadband services. The city announced the transition October 14.
Transition to New Payment Processor
Loveland changed vendors that process utility payments, according to the city announcement. The transition to a Dallas-based processing center follows standard practices among Colorado municipalities seeking updated technology, enhanced security, and improved efficiency for high-volume payment processing.
Third-party payment processors provide automated receipt and posting of payments, lockbox services for mailed checks, electronic payment gateways, and integration with municipal billing systems, according to utility industry best practices. National processors often centralize operations in major hubs like Dallas to achieve economies of scale and offer advanced security features.
The city does not anticipate significant delays in processing payments sent on time to the new address.
Multiple Payment Options Remain Available
Loveland Utilities serves more than 38,000 customer accounts across the incorporated city and adjacent service areas. Customers can choose from several payment methods beyond mailing checks.
Online payments through the city's web portal accept credit cards, debit cards, or ACH electronic transfers. An automated phone system processes payments through interactive voice response. In-person payments of cash, checks, or money orders are accepted at designated city office locations.
Customers can also enroll in AutoPay for recurring bank withdrawals or sign up for paperless eBilling to receive digital statements.
The monthly billing cycle will continue unchanged during the transition. All payment methods except mailed checks will use existing procedures and addresses.
Customer Service Available for Questions
Colorado procurement regulations require municipalities to follow competitive bidding processes when selecting vendors for services like payment processing. Best practices recommend notifying customers through multiple channels at least one billing cycle before address changes take effect.
The city advised customers to update their records immediately to ensure payments reach the correct processing center starting November 3.
