Loveland City Council approves appointments to three boards and commissions

The Loveland City Council voted 9-0 Tuesday to approve a slate of appointments to city boards and commissions as part of its consent agenda. The action fills vacancies on the Human Services Commission, the Construction Advisory Board and the Loveland Communication Advisory Board.

Under Item 4.1, council approved the appointment of Christian Vernaza to the Human Services Commission; Adam Trainor, Blaine Rappe and Jason Baker to the Construction Advisory Board; and Richard Bilancia to the Loveland Communication Advisory Board. Each term begins July 7 and runs through June 30, 2029.

The consent agenda motion covered Items 4.1 through 4.7, with Items 4.3 and 4.7 pulled for separate consideration. After a roll-call vote, Mayor Patrick McFall announced the motion had passed.

The appointments were recommended through the city’s board and commission selection process after what the City Clerk’s Office described as active outreach and notice of vacancies, including notices in the Reporter-Herald, on social media, on the city broadcast channel and through staff liaisons during board and commission meetings.

The boards involved each have distinct roles in city government. The Human Services Commission reviews grant applications for Community Development Block Grant and Human Services Commission funding and makes recommendations to council. The Construction Advisory Board advises on construction regulations and serves as an appeals board for building and related codes. The Loveland Communication Advisory Board advises council on communications services, including high-speed broadband, and provides policy recommendations to the city manager and the Water and Power director.
