Greeley to share Spanish Colony historic survey results July 18
The City of Greeley and consultant Felsburg, Holt, and Ullevig have completed a historic resource survey of the Spanish Colony neighborhood north of Greeley, the city said in a news release.
The city will share the results at a public open house from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, at the House of Hope and Refuge, 1527 N. 25th Avenue Court. Attendees will learn about the project, recommendations for future work and the survey report, according to the release.
History Colorado, the Greeley Museums, the city’s lead line replacement program and the city’s water efficiency team also will have information available at the event. Spanish translation will be provided, and the city said light refreshments and giveaways will be offered.
The project was funded by a grant from History Colorado’s State Historical Fund, allowing the city to hire Felsburg, Holt, and Ullevig to complete the survey. The city said historic resource surveys document the history and architecture of buildings, sites, structures, objects and districts.
Community members can visit SpeakUpGreeley.com to learn more about the project, share stories and photos, and provide information using the questionnaire and stories tabs.
