National Police Week ride stops at Angel Armor headquarters in Fort Collins

Angel Armor welcomed 25 cyclists to its Fort Collins headquarters as the annual TOUR de SHIELD616 passed through during National Police Week, according to a Business Wire release.

The riders completed about 300 miles across Colorado over four days, arriving Friday, touring the facility, sharing a meal with the Angel Armor team and staying overnight before leaving Saturday morning.

SHIELD616 says on its website that it has raised $23.3 million, protected 9,037 first responders, impacted 401 agencies and is helping in 32 states. The nonprofit says donations support all-day rifle-rated armor, ballistic plates and core mission support for law enforcement and other first responders.

According to the release, Angel Armor and SHIELD616 have worked together for seven years. The release says Angel Armor was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Fort Collins. Jake Skifstad, SHIELD616’s founder, said the partnership helped the group shift from throw-over rifle-rated vests to all-day rifle-rated protection.

Scott Garrett, Angel Armor’s CEO, said the company shares SHIELD616’s mission of helping officers get access to life-saving protection.
