Greeley announces July 4 closures, transit suspension and parade traffic limits

Greeley city offices will close Friday, July 3, for Independence Day, and Greeley Transit will suspend fixed-route bus service on July 4, according to a city news release issued June 24.

The city said transit service will resume on its regular schedule July 5. Residents who rely on transit for essential trips were advised to make alternate arrangements in advance.

The city also said eastbound and westbound traffic will be restricted along the Independence Day parade corridor from 6 a.m. to noon July 4. The restrictions cover 9th through 11th avenues from 3rd Street north to 23rd Street south. The parade route runs from 10th Avenue and 22nd Street near the University of Northern Colorado north to 10th Avenue and 5th Street.

Several city facilities will operate on modified schedules. The Greeley History Museum will be open Friday, July 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed July 4. Centennial Village Museum will be open July 4 for Greeley Stampede attendees only. The Union Colony Civic Center and ticket office will be closed July 3 and 4, while outdoor pools and splash parks will be open July 3 and 4.

The Rodarte Community Center will be closed June 29 through July 6. The Greeley Ice Haus and Greeley Active Adult Center will be closed July 4. The Greeley Recreation Center and Family FunPlex will close at 6 p.m. July 3 and will be closed July 4.
