Estes Park water report says tap water meets safety standards
The Town of Estes Park Water Division has released its annual drinking water quality report, saying the local supply continues to meet or outperform federal and state safety standards.
The report, also called a Consumer Confidence Report, is for calendar year 2025 and says the town had no drinking water violations. According to the town, certified laboratories tested the water for microbial, organic, inorganic and chemical contaminants, and operators monitored more than 350 compounds.
Water Quality and Laboratory Supervisor Deb Callahan said the town treats and delivers water “with the community's health in mind” and that routine testing, treatment processes and infrastructure investments help ensure safe drinking water for homes and businesses.
The report says lead and copper levels remained below federal limits. It also says the utility completed its initial service line inventory in September 2024 and that customers own the entire service line from the water main into the house.
The town said its water system is supplied by two sources, the Marys Lake Plant through the Colorado-Big Thompson Project and Glacier Creek, a tributary of the Big Thompson River in Rocky Mountain National Park. The Water Division has 14 employees and serves 8,399 metered connections.
