Greeley to hold four-day Culture Pop festival July 23-26

Greeley will expand its annual Arts Picnic into a four-day Culture Pop festival July 23-26, highlighting arts, culture and creativity in downtown Greeley, according to the city.

The festival begins July 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Atlas Events Center with a presentation by Colorado Poet Laureate Crisosto Apache. The evening also includes a culture keynote address by Greeley arts and culture advocate Rebecca Safarik, who will receive the Greeley Culture Pop Star Award.

Friday Fest is scheduled for July 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 9th St Plaza. On Saturday, the Greeley Farmers’ Market opens at 8 a.m. and Arts Picnic runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Lincoln Park. The city said this year’s Arts Picnic is expected to include more than 150 arts and crafts booths, along with a Spoon Circus for children and a Community Art Tent with hands-on projects.

Saturday night will feature live entertainment beginning at 6 p.m., including a Rootbeer Richie performance from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Union Colony Civic Center parking lot. The festival concludes Sunday, July 26, with Arts Picnic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., including music and performances on two stages and food trucks.

All events are free and open to the public. The city said Culture Pop is part of Colorado’s 250/150 Sesquisemiquincentennial events, and program guides will be available at Bandwagon Magazine locations in Greeley beginning in late June.
